Chapter 1
“Aloha Oahu, welcome to the annual Teen Surfing Competition, let’s get started. First one surfing is five year winning teen surfer Nate Landers. Nate has been surfing since he was three; he has never lost any surfing contests he has been in. Let’s see how he does today,”
“Woo Hoo Nate you rock! Hope you win the contest!” yelled Hikaru my best friend.
As I was surfing through a curling wave I yelled back. “Thanks Hikaru I always do!”
“Go Nate! I Love you baby!” shouted some totally HOT Hawaiian girl laying front down on a beach towel.
“Whoa everybody Nate is doing better than ever today. I think we know who is going to win this,” Just as the announcer said that the worst thing ever happened. I SLIPPED OFF MY BOARD!! I don’t know how it happened all I was doing was looking at the mystery girl an on then my foot slipped and fell off my board. I just can’t believe it happened and all because of the hot mystery girl.
“Nate!” yelled my Dad. “How could you fall! You are a disgrace to the family! When you get home you are so…BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

“What!” I mumbled as I woke up. “Oh thank God it was only a dream. Well I better wake up for school.” I turned and looked at the digital clock on the surfboard nightstand next to my bed and nearly died when I saw that it read 7:30. I had to be at school in the next thirty minutes, not to mention I had to take a shower, eat breakfast, and meet up with Hikaru, (thank God school is just down the main road).
I jumped out of bed and ran across my room to my dresser and opened it and grabbed out a pair of khaki cargo shorts, a pair of boxers, a white t-shirt, and red Hawaiian style over shirt. I ran at top speed out my room’s door and over to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
“Who is it?” asked my little brother Nedrick even though he knew it was me.
“Ned you know it’s me let me in!” I shouted while I was banging on the door.
“Nate I can’t just let you in I’m taking a relaxing bath.” Just as Ned finish I looked at the clock ,7:38, I knew could not waste any time so I barged through the bathroom door and pulled Ned out of the bubble filled bath tub and pushed him out the door.
“Nate can’t I at least have my towel?” whined Ned.
“Sure,” I opened the door and handed Ned his towel. It was now 7:40 I had to take a very fast shower so I could till have enough time to eat breakfast and meet up with Hikaru before school. So I literally hopped into the shower.
When I got out of the shower I looked at the clock, 7:45, perfect timing. I threw on my boxers and shorts and then put my shirts on. After that I combed my hair and made sure I looked PERFECT, then sprayed on some AXE and left the bathroom.
“Great,” I thought to myself as I looked at the clock again 7:53. “Took longer in the bathroom then I hoped.”
I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.
“Good morning Nedrick,” Asked my mom as she was trying to feed my baby sister, Sara, a can of microwave chili. I should let you know that my mom isn’t the brightest candle in the bunch. She is a VERY dumb blonde.
“I’m good Mom, and I’m Nate not Ned. I don’t have much time to talk I woke up late for school and now I’m running a little late.”
“Nate it’s Saturday,” exclaimed my mom.
“Mom it’s Monday,” I corrected her. I really can’t talk now.” I opened the fridge and took out an apple and grabbed my backpack off the dinning room chair and slipped on my flip flops and ran into the downstairs bathroom and brushed my teeth and ran out of the bathroom and out of the house.
I ran next door to Hikaru’s house. I looked down at my watch and it read 7:55. As I ran I couldn’t help thinking that I forgot something but didn’t worry about it now. I stopped in front of Hikaru’s house and knocked on the door.
